Planning & Details

For those who have already spoken with me and are preparing for their ceremony, thank you for choosing to move forward with Sanctified Ground. This page offers the practical information you may need as we prepare for your ceremony or companioning session.

If we have not yet spoken, please begin with the How to Begin page so we can connect before scheduling.

Initial Conversation:

We’ll meet by appointment — by phone, online, or in person to explore:

  • The nature of the ceremony or service you’re seeking

  • Any spiritual, cultural, or personal needs

  • The tone you envision (simple, joyful, ritual‑rich, family‑inclusive, private, etc.)

  • Location, accessibility, and any special considerations

This conversation is gentle, spacious, and meant to help us discern whether I am the right officiant or companion for your needs.

Scheduling

Once we’ve spoken and agreed to move forward, we’ll choose a date together. Your ceremony date and time is held with a deposit, and the remaining balance is due 14 days before the service, so all practical pieces are settled well ahead of your day.

For details about specific ceremony fees, each are attached to the ceremony or service. All companioning sessions are scheduled by phone.

Payment

At this time, payment may be offered by:

  • Square card processing will be available soon. At this time, payment is accepted by bank check or cash. Personal checks are reserved for established clients.”

If you have concerns about timing or accessibility, please speak with me—compassion is central to my ministry.

Travel

I serve Midcoast Maine and surrounding areas.

  • The first 20 miles round‑trip from Friendship, ME are included.

  • Beyond that, travel is $0.70 per mile roundtrip.

  • For ceremonies requiring long travel or ending late in the evening, I may need to arrange overnight accommodation for safety.

  • If so, we’ll discuss this ahead of time and simply add the actual lodging cost — no surprises.

Preparing for Your Ceremony

During our planning conversation, we’ll explore:

  • the tone and shape of your ceremony

  • any readings, blessings, or ritual elements you wish to include

  • accessibility needs for you or your guests

  • the role of family, friends, or animals

  • the land or space where the ceremony will be held

You’ll receive guidance tailored to your ceremony, so you feel supported and grounded.

Fees, Payment, and Cancellations

A Non‑Refundable retainer is required to secure the ceremony date.

Final Payment is due no later than fourteen (14) days before the ceremony. This allows time for personal checks to be fully clear and ensures all preparation can be completed without interruption.

Changes to Ceremony Date or Time Changes may be accommodated when possible; availability is not guaranteed.

Cancellation by Client The retainer is non‑refundable. If cancellation occurs within seven (7) days of the ceremony, the full fee is due.

Cancellation by Minister If the minister must cancel due to emergency, all fees paid will be refunded in full.

Force Majeure Neither party is liable for cancellations caused by events beyond reasonable control.
