Simple and Elaborate Ceremonies

The earth-based handfasting ceremony is a time-honored wedding tradition that is rich in symbolism and significance. While it 'does not' serve as a legally binding contract if performed without the legal requirements of a marriage license, the handfasting ceremony is symbolic of the unity that the couple shares and can be a perfect way to show their bond by 'tying the knot'. Cords, ribbons, special charms can be incorporated into the cord which can represent the hopes, dreams and promises made to one another.

Short & Sweet

A Short & Sweet wedding ceremony offers a warm, heartfelt moment of commitment without the extra layers of ritual or lengthy readings. It centers the couple’s love in a simple, genuine exchange—often just a welcome, a few grounding words about partnership, and the vows that seal their intention. This style of ceremony is ideal for couples who want something intimate, meaningful, and uncluttered, allowing the focus to rest fully on their connection and the promise they’re making. It creates a beautiful pause in time: brief, sincere, and deeply felt.

Simple Handfasting

A handfasting ceremony becomes a living circle of blessing, with the couple standing at its heart as the elements and the divine are welcomed to bear witness. The couple's joined hands are wrapped in a cord while vows and rings are exchanged, weaving intention, devotion, and the presence of the more‑than‑human world into a single, breathing moment. When their intentions are spoken and the pronouncement is offered, the bond feels less declared than revealed—something already true, now named aloud in the company of those who love them.

Elaborate Handfasting

The circle gathers, and the land bears quiet witness. The ground beneath them holds the memory of every vow spoken in love. The couple steps forward with open hands, offering themselves to the turning of the seasons and to the life they are choosing together.

The officiant welcomes the elements—air for clarity, fire for devotion, water for compassion, and earth for steadiness along their shared path. When the cord is lifted, it becomes a strand of intention, shaped by the unseen threads that have brought them to this moment.

Their hands are bound with slow, deliberate care. Each wrap carries a blessing: courage, tenderness, and the wisdom to grow side by side. The knot is tied not to restrict, but to remind them of the promise they make here, witnessed by guests, the land and by ancestors.

When the knot is released, the invisible imprint of the cord remains—a quiet echo of the vow now living in their joined hearts.
